It is currently open as a public museum very near from Thamel. This was the palace for the former king and queen of Nepal until the revolution of 2006. This palace is historically significant because it contains information about the Shah dynasty, which ruled Nepal for more than 100 years. There are 75 rooms according to distrauict and named after each district. if you wnat visit this musem you have to follow strict rules because the items it has. you can see their private villa, chambers, rooms which carry significant part in Nepalese history. Another major attraction on this palace is that you can see those places where evcery family of former king were massacre.
National Stadium (1.6 KM)
This is the only national stadium Nepal
has and it is named after one of the four martyrs. This stadium was developed
in 1956. You can catch numerous international and national matches, like the
SAFF championships. SAG games and friendly international matches.
Kathmandu Durbar Square

Kathmandu Durbar Square, also known as
Basantapur Durbar Square, is a historical palace included in the UNSECO world
heritage site. Actually, the palace was built in the Licchavi period. Later,
the palace was captured by the Malla dynasty along with Bhaktapur and Patan.
When one city is divided into three sons, this palace went to Ratna Malla. The
palace was then invaded by King Prithvi Narayan Shah and served as a residence
for the Shah dynasty until the Narayanhitti royal palace was built. Now, it is
open to the public, where you can find the history of the Shah and Rana
dynasties as well.
Freak Street (1.2 KM)
Freak Street is also known as Jhooche or
hippie street, and is located in the Basantapur Durbar Square. This was very
popular for tourists in the 19th century. It was known as
"early Thamel" until Thamel was founded for tourists. Freak Street
was very famous for the legal weed at that time. Tourists from all over the
world used traveled to take advantage of free drugs.The government has banned
weed, but you can find countless pubs, bars, and restaurants with a rooftop
view of Basantapur Durbar Square.
